I am for the most part a self taught/naïve artist. I grasped the significance of creating at a notably young age. I believe that creating is not only essential for the artist but for the observer. I possess an exigency to affect: evoke a usually strong mental or emotional response. Putting something true, bold, beautiful, raw and real into existence is my passion. My works are both sentimentally charged and fundamentally driven. Although I have experimented with other mediums, such as paper and other miscellaneous found items in my collage/mixed media works, acrylic is my preferred medium. I love the way the versatile acrylic flows freely beneath my brush and I enjoy using crackle in my paintings to explore and demonstrate the beauty in imperfection. I exhibit works regularly at many different art venues throughout Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan. My portfolio has been accepted by Trunkt, a juried New York City based renowned international premier directory of creative entrepreneurs.
